Yeeeeeeh baby yeaaaaah! It seems I can say goodbye very soon to my gnome network-manager. Not that it's bad, but integration with KDE 4.1 is baaaaad. Cheers to you (and others). I hope it will soon land in extra-gear.

There was a large change to the Solid-Control API shortly before I was going on vacation so I was not able to get it in on time. It's been moved back into playground until it can be in a feature complete state. It will be released in extragear and hopefully part of the kdenetwork package in KDE 4.2. Being in extragear has it's advantages though in that we can add features such as CDMA and GSM before the next official KDE release.

Thanks man, you rock! It's good to see KDE will catch up to Gnome for network management after a long time in the wilderness. And the fact you'll be using the KDE4 pillars Plasma and Solid to achieve this is impressive and bodes well for our plucky little desktop.

P.S. I reckon you should get your blog added to Planet KDE; that way, more people can read about your work. I found your blog through random googling.
